Cheryl Wheeler is the owner and operator of Design 125 since the store’s opening in the summer of 2014. Cheryl attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where she concentrated on architectural design. Cheryl’s goal in opening Design 125 is to offer a luxury interior design and furniture establishment that is a part of the revitalization of Historic Downtown Twin Falls. She is continually inspired by her designers’ creative intensity and finds it refreshing to be a part of the design team, be it with simple or complex projects. Cheryl, her husband Seth, and their four children reside in the Twin Falls area.
Mary Allen, an interior designer for Design 125, has been in this profession since the early 1980s. Mary attended Colorado State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior and Graphic Design. Mary moved to the Twin Falls area where she has worked both as a free lance interior designer and also for many local businesses, such as for L'Herisson's Fine Furniture, Inspirations, Cain's Home Furnishings, and Inspired Living Stores. Throughout the years, she has gained many special friendships from her residential and commercial projects. Mary enjoys all aspects of art and design, from space planning, furniture selection, color consultation to window treatments and accessorizing. Mary has always had an appreciation for art and design and enjoys the challenge of her client’s visions and needs.
Mike Burkhart is a lifetime resident of the Magic Valley. Having always been interested in architecture and design, a part time job soon lead to a career in the home furnishings and design industry. Mike enjoys his close interactions with clients, working to understand their individual wants and needs to realize successful, cohesive spaces.
Missie Malina, a Southern Idaho native, is a design consultant and administrative specialist for Design 125. She has been in the design profession since 2003 and in administrative roles since 1989. Prior to Design 125, Missie worked as a public relations correspondent and designer for The Farmhouse Collection, which was a local custom furniture manufacturer. Through The Farmhouse Collection, Missie was able to collaborate with amazing designers throughout the United States to work on major projects that included hotels, B&B’s, and small to large personal homes. Missie’s favorite aspect of working with clients is to understand their vision and to make their dreams come true no matter their budget. Missie believes that the most satisfying part about helping a client design their space is the emotional connection that she makes with a client when they have found something they truly love, whether it is a piece of art, furniture, or that perfect accessory that pulls their room perfectly together.
Dawnett Abbott, a native to Twin Falls, is an administrative assistant and design consultant for Design 125. She has been a design consultant since 1994 and has worked in the role of administrative assistant since 2006. Her passion has always been in design work, which compliments her customer service relationships. Dawnett appreciates and enjoys good design and strives to help clients realize the beauty of their home.
