The Beginning

I am excited to announce that I will be writing and occasionally videoing a weekly blog for Design 125! I suspect that writing the blogs will be easy compared with doing a video or vlog as I have heard my kids refer to them. However, I suspect that it’s like most things –practice makes perfect, or at least much improved!

First a little background information: we are a furniture store and interior design studio located in historic downtown Twin Falls, Idaho, and we will soon be celebrating our second year in business. We have an excellent design staff in Mary Allen and Mike Burkhart, in addition to our fantastic sales staff of Missie, Shellie, Heather, and Natalie. Our design team is eager to help you with your design project or dilemma, no matter how large or small, and we love to do in home consultations.

One of the coolest things we have done lately is that a Google team came to our store and filmed our interior, and now anyone can “walk” right into our store from Google Maps. Of course the link to do a virtual tour also works from our website and Facebook, but for me, there seems to be an extra NEATOfactor about doing it from Google Maps.

Something I enjoy about being in downtown Twin Falls is that there is always something fun going on! We like to do our share, and we have several upcoming events that we are excited about!

One event is that we, in conjunction with the Magic Valley Arts Council Full Moon Gallery, will be participating in First Fridays. We did our first event in June, but we plan to skip July, and resume in August. Currently, we are scheduling for 5 pm-7 pm, and we will have refreshments and live music in the front window! I plan to post a more detailed blog on this later.

Another fun event is Wine and Design in early October (put date if we know it). We are inviting our favorite vendors to participate, such as Hunter Douglas, Uttermost, and Mayo, and I promise to keep you posted! You will be able to meet the manufacturer representatives and ask questions directly. The “Design” half of this event will be Design Your Own Sofa with Mayo, and Mayo has given us special pricing on custom orders for this event. Customers will be able to choose their own fabric, frame, style, nailhead option, leg finish, etc. The “Wine” half promises to be just as much fun, because wine always is!
